Ten Technologies To Watch In 2010
A few days ago, we saw Engadget describing some of the technologies which define the past decade.
Well, it is the new year so I figure we may as well look ahead and see what technologies will rock us in 2010. TechCrunch has a nice write up here. I agree with the Tablet having the potential to be the next big thing and rightfully earned its place in the top spot. However, I am surprised that Nexus One/Google Phone is not on the list.
As for the Chrome OS, it is an interesting technology which could threaten Microsoft’s monopolistic position in the operating system market. All the apps are web based which means you do your work in a virtual world.
While the Mac OS fail to topple Microsoft, the Chrome OS may be able to do so, given the internet’s pervasiveness and Google’s dominant position on the web. So long as security, ease of navigation, and cost are superior to Windows, the conversion to Chrome OS should be an easy one.
However, I doubt Windows will be forsaken entirely. There are times when you don’t have internet connection and the Chrome OS is useless. Or some people just don’t like to be hooked up on the net while doing their stuff as it can get pretty distracting.
What do you guys think of the ten technologies to watch in 2010?
