Microsoft Launches New Motion Technology

Microsoft are no slacker when it comes to patenting new technology.

Microsoft Research has patented an EMG technology that will sense a person’s hand motions down to the smallest of gestures.

You put electronic devices on your arm which pick up your muscle movements and translate them to whatever you’re trying to control. The researcher is able to play Guitar Hero with simply his hands in this manner.

This technology is still a bit raw to attract consumers but the potential in videogames is vast. Just imagine a wireless EMG sensor module placed over the entire body.
