New GPS Technology To Avoid Speed and Red Light Cameras

New GPS Technology To Avoid Speed Cameras

Radar detectors have been used for years to play hide and seek with the police for speeding offences. However, they won’t protect you from automatic speed cameras and red light cameras.

Now, GPS Angel has released the V4 Red Light Camera and Speed Camera detector. The device uses SiRF Star III GPS technology to pinpoint your location and run it against a database of known speed trap and red light camera locations.

It then uses visual and audible alerts to alert you. You can even program it to alert you when you’re speeding through school zones, playgrounds, etc. where the penalties are high for speeding.

While there are other GPS products on the market, the GPS Angel is possibly the first to do away with monthly subscriptions to stay updated. You just have to remove the GPS Angel from your vehicle and connect it to your PC to get the updates.

It comes with a rechargeable battery so you don’t have to run any unnecessary cords, though you can plug it into your car adapter if you wish. The retail price is at $129, an investment which you can easily recoup by avoiding several red light and speeding tickets.

However, safety is still of paramount importance. Red light cameras and speed cameras are there for a reason, hence do not use GPS Angel as a license for reckless driving.
