Sharp Innovating First 3D HD Camera for Mobile

sharp 3D camera on mobile

3D is all the rage now, even FIFA World Cup 2010 has caught on to the technology and Playboy magazine is making a 3D centerfold. 3D technology is definitely the next frontier for businesses to seek out profits.

Recently, Sharp announced the world’s first 3D 720p-recording camera module which can be used on digital cameras and mobile phones. It will be available for testing in July before hitting retail by end 2010.

Not much details on the 3D camera yet, except that it uses 2 cameras to take images simultaneously and will require additional circuitry to process the images to deliver the 3D effects.

If the price is affordable, I am keen to test and buy a 3D camera, it’ll be even more cool when used with glasses-free 3D display that Sharp is working on.
