Do You Prefer Email Or Handwritten Letter?

Fancy those days when you handwrite a letter to your penpal or loved ones? For me, I love handwritten letters and can tell you that cold emails, no matter how beautiful the prose, cannot compare with the warm, intimate feeling you get when a handwritten letter comes around.

Too bad, nowadays, hardly anyone pens a letter because email is just too easy and convenient. Especially when you are overseas, sending a letter takes too long and is not cost effective.

Fortunately, the people at Pilot Handwriting have given us the best of both worlds (email and handwritten letter). They have devised a method to transcribe your writing into digital format.

Just print out one of their templates and fill it up with your writing. Next take a picture of the paper with a webcam, digital camera or scan it in and the web app does the rest. Once done, just type out your content and your unique handwriting will appear on the screen. You can send this letter to any emails but you can’t save it as a font file just yet.

While this is not a new technology, Pilot Handwriting makes it hassle-free to email your friends handwriten letters in digital format.

Receiving handwritten letters can leave a deep impression and possibly forge closer relationships but if you are passing off your illegible handwriting for calligraphy, no thanks, just stick to the trusty email.

This technology really seems cool. I mean it feels good to see our own hand writing in our mails. But on second thoughts, I have a bad hand writing so I will prefer staying away from it. All though Must ask you : “Where is the link to the site?” :D

I must admit. i text and email until the cows come home lol, but i romanticise and remember how personal it felt receiving a handwritten letter where the envelope had traces of his scent on it.
