Asus PadFone – Best of Both Worlds Smartphone & Tablet

Gadget geeks can now get the best of both worlds, if they can’t decide between buying a smart phone or tablet. Asus has revealed its PadFone which allows you to dock and convert a 4.3” Android smartphone into a large 10.1” tablet.

Packing a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor under its Super AMOLED qHD display, the Asus PadFone is designed with an 8MP rear camera plus LED flash and f/2.2 autofocus lens. It is available from 16GB to 64GB and even comes with microSD storage for memory hungry users. Other specs include Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, Ice Cream Sandwich, A-GPS, 1,520mAh battery and HSPA+.

The versatility of Asus PadFone does come at a price as the 10.1” dock is an optional accessory. But it is worth the money if you yearn for bigger display and extended battery life. Yes, slipping the smart phone into the station not only improves ergonomics, it increases battery life up to a whopping 9 times.

And to sweeten the deal, the dock comes with a stylus that lets you write/draw on the display and also doubles as a headset for receiving calls. Now, that is a smart and cool gadget which I can’t wait to try out.
