Despite lukewarm reviews of iPhone 4S when it was unveiled, Apple is celebrating record iPhone 4S sales – moving as many as 4 million units this weekend.
For early birds who got their hands on the latest iGadget, it is not all rosy. Several frustrating iPhone 4S issues range from subpar screen quality, unresponsive Siri to slow Sprint.
Some tech geeks went a step further in their “review” of the iPhone 4S. They did a drop test and a bullet test. Did iPhone 4S stand up to the extreme treatment? Check out the vids…
There was a time when Apple iPod ruled the digital music player business but consumers preferences have shifted somewhat.
As the iconic music player celebrates its 10th anniversary next month, there are speculation that Apple may discontinue the iPod Classic and iPod Shuffle.
It is not hard to understand why Apple want to axe the iPods. Since the arrival of iPhone, iPod sales are declining year after year and now generate only 8-percent of Apple’s total revenue according to Q4 2010 statistics.
Apple can deploy their resources to more profitable ventures and it is better to call it quits at the top than to have consumers slam your products for falling short and destroy the brand. What do you guys think?
Project management of IT projects, especially complex multi-million dollar software projects can be tricky. A total software lifecycle management solution requires reliable software measurement for project cost, schedule, and risk estimation which makes it tedious to handle on a manual basis.
Fortunately, technology has improved by leaps and bounds and we can now manage project conveniently by using an accurate software estimation, planning and benchmarking tool. There is one site which offers great project management software – Qsm.com.
QSM is an established innovator in software project estimation with a wide range of leading measurement and benchmarking tools for software lifecycle management based on the Putnam model.
QSM SLIM Suite is also highly configurable to multiple design processes and allow you to use parametric estimating tools for Agile
development, hardware, infrastructure, model-based development, package implementation, engineering and architecture design, service-oriented architecture, call center development, and more.
There is also a competent group of seasoned software management consultants and training to complement the products. QSM software management consultants bring decades of experience to your software measurement or lifecycle management project.
Training in the use of the SLIM Suite of software measurement tools is available on site in the U.S. or in Europe. If on-site training is not feasible, SLIM-Estimate, SLIM-Control, and SLIM-Metrics training is available online. Software project estimation, project control, and benchmarking skills are transferred with either approach.
With this software you have a power to develop and at the same time estimate the project you are going to run so there are so you will have some references about what is the best decision you should make in time.
This software is also completed with technology that enables you to evaluate, validate, negotiate, customize, eliminate and interface it with other programs. In other words, you have everything you need to run or manage your project in one kind of software only.
Whether you are a CIO, senior IT developer, software development project manager, or IT team leader, you will find QSM products to be perfect solutions. If you are interested to keep software development projects on time and on budget, check out QSM SLIM Suite of software measurement tools.
Mark Zuckerberg has given Facebook a makeover with Timeline. This new feature makes it easier to see events, pics and posts from your past by year and month by placing a timeline on the right of your profile.
Timeline Views allow you to filter the content by photos, locations (courtesy of Bing maps integration), add apps, “likes” and much more.
I like the addition of Timeline as it makes Facebook a more interesting social network by letting the world know about your life story. But remember that stalkers, girlfriends, bosses, will have an easier time finding out about you too… so keep the embarrassing pics away!
Sony’s Tablet S is now available for pre-order with a promised September 16th ship date. That now includes Amazon in addition to Sony’s own site, as well as Best Buy and Future Shop in Canada which are each listing a slightly later September 23rd availability date for the country (but the same $499 and $599 price tags).
As expected, those interested in the smaller, dual-screened Tablet P instead still have a bit more waiting to do.
Olivia Wilde, the sexy American model and actress, has a nude scene in an upcoming movie The Change-Up.
Too bad the nipples are fake… Olivia wasn’t naked as she wore pasties to cover up. The nipples were added using computer generated imagery (GCI) during post production to make the sex scene realistic.
Olivia Wilde said: “I got to approve the nipples! They sent me an email saying, ‘Please review nipple cover shot one through seven and decide which one is most like the original.’ I don’t know what he (producer) was using as source material… but I think it’s pretty close.”
Well, if you are an Olivia Wilde fan, you just have to take it as that. Let’s hope this is not the start of an industry trend though where CGI technology is being used to attract moviegoers in steamy sex scenes with fake details.
It started with Jessica Alba’s “nude” scene in Machete (NSFW) which digitally stripped off her undies and now they’re doing it with Olivia Wilde’s nips.
No matter how seductive the scene, looking at computer generated artwork is different. At least body doubles aren’t so bad…
Right after Apple reported its blowout earnings, it has another good news lined up.
OS X Lion, its eighth and latest major release of operating system, available at $29.99, has registered a cool one million downloads in the first day of availability. That’s the fastest selling OS release in Apple’s history.
Apple has proudly claimed that OS X Lion is the “best OS we’ve ever made.”
I agree. The OS X Lion comes with 250 new features for Mac devices such as Multi-Touch gestures, system-wide support for full-screen apps, Mission Control, the Mac App Store, Launchpad, and a completely revamped Mail app.
With so many innovative features and Apple operating system being much more affordable than Windows upgrades, I just gotta head over to the Mac App Store and get a download.
The mania over Harry Potter books and movies has been phenomenal. Fans just love this magical adventure, as proven by the blockbuster success of the latest and last episode of Harry Potter movie.
Google has made a shrewd venture by teaming up with J.K Rowling latest project, Pottermore – an online reading platform that allows you to read Harry Potter books with interactive features and interesting tidbits about the author.
Harry Potter books are now available through Google eBooks too. From around October, all 7 Harry Potter books will make their way to Google eBooks for more than 80 eReaders.
The books will also be available on Google Books and Google’s iOS and Android applications. Google also announced its exclusive rights to be the payment platform for purchases made on Pottermore. That is one up over Paypal.
I have a good collection of Harry Potter books but still getting the digital versions. Da*n, the Harry Potter magic is addictive..

You can trust technology to solve the problem of feeding the world’s population. Now, humans will never go hungry again… because we can just eat our own poo!
A Japanese researcher, Ikeda, was approached by Tokyo Sewage to deal with mountains of sewage mud in his country. Instead of making fuel or fertilizers out of these human faeces, he decided to create delicious artificial meat.
Before you puke all over your computer, Ikeda says these human faeces actually contain lots of proteins due to bacteria. He has made it palatable by combining the proteins with a reaction enhancer, mixing them in an exploder, adding food coloring to make it look red. Add in a bit of soy protein and voila, you get an irresistibly yummy artificial steak.
The artificial steak is 63% protein, 25% carbohydrates, 3% lipids and 9% minerals. He even managed to convince people to try eating it. They say it tastes like beef.
I am glad these artificial meat can solve the world’s hunger problem and reduce waste and carbon emissions but I doubt many people will rush to try these human poo passing off as high protein goody and costing ten times the price of real meat.
